Operations Director

POSITION: Operations Director
LOCATION: Washington, DC

American Bridge 21st Century, a democratic research and communications organization dedicated to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions, is hiring an Operations Director to manage the organization’s operations department and provide day-to-day support to employees. This position is based in our Washington, DC office.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Operations Department team which is responsible for the organization’s workspace and day-to-day office operations;
  • Overseeing processes for onboarding employees, managing health care, retirement, and transportation benefit programs and staff reimbursement requests;
  • Managing HR processes and consultants;
  • Providing administrative support to Finance and Compliance teams, including state registrations;
  • Managing office systems and serving as a primary liaison with vendors and service providers;
  • Maintaining a relationship with building management;
  • Helping manage relations with the union;
  • Supervising the Operations team;
  • Coordinating with the Finance team to accurately process payroll and track HR processes related to payroll and payroll tax processing; and;
  • Other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Five years' related professional experience;
  • Superior organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and balance competing timelines;
  • Excellent and precise attention to detail;
  • Good judgment, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Previous experience managing staff strongly preferred;
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel;
  • Strong command of Google Drive applications, particularly Forms, Sheets, and Docs;
  • Experience processing payroll and running reports in ADP WorkforceNow, required;
  • Experience with Slack and Trakstar, preferred;
  • PHR certification preferred; and;
  • An interest in our organization’s mission and goals.

American Bridge 21st Century PAC offers a competitive salary, between $98,000-$125,000 for this position, commensurate with experience. We also offer a strong benefits package. American Bridge 21st Century is a union employer. This position is not in the bargaining unit.
